myself with disability AND a part time job, and should
have barely enough to pay rent and...
[victory fanfare!]
A PRIVATE OFFICE SPACE!!! I know, I know. Hold
your applause.
So, I'm renting a smol office (think, like, jail cell small, ha) that
is ENTIRELY MINE for $500/mo, which is actually a pretty
decent price for something that has high-speed internet, free
coffee, tea, and beer???, plus copying, a VOICE OVER STUDIO, and also, is right at the edge of Little Osaka / Sawtelle's Japantown, so I'm PRETTY EXCITED. I even explored a little grocery over on Sawtelle, although there's apparently a bigger one nearby, besides a Ralph's and Trader Joe's within walking distance. There's legitimately 4 or 5 different ways to get here from Westwood, which is highly entertaining, so I have no problem getting here whenever I want to go work. And quite frankly, if I have even a few hours of free time, I'm coming down here. The guards aren't so amused with me showing up later in the evening, but I get 24/7 access, so I actually get a lot of quiet time in the evenings and weekends when no one else is here.
This is going to be a big game changer for me. I have a bulletin board for things to do / remember, a pretty cool Projects book with a disgusting list of things I need to work on (and keeps them organized!), and have plenty of space for ALL of my things! I have two giant totes stashed away on a top shelf that's full of yarn and the Etsy shop inventory, and am waiting on some bookshelves to come in the mail atm, and that should not only have plenty of room for everything, but plenty of room to grow. This is going to be a GAME CHANGER for me. And quite frankly, I might be able to /live/ here as a back-up plan if the Podshare implodes like rumors are suggesting. Hopefully that's just a rumor, but just in cases. Alternatively, I might move to Venice, hard to say.
I'm trying to get my name changed atm, so I'm without a birth certificate, which has me on a delay to get my learner's permit, then driving classes, and then a CAR. Hopefully soon! AND AS BLAKE FOR REALSIES.
So, I'm working on getting some of my overdue projects scratched off the to-do list, and have already worked on getting the Etsy shop inventoried, and some of my systems and such pulled from the bujo for regular use in the office, and now I'm working on the backlogs. Including this one.
So... Who knows? I might actually get caught up with this thing. Should be fun!
