I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. ~Psalm 37:25
I've spent $10 on groceries in the last month or so, on milk, bread and eggs. My... now ex-mother in law dropped off two boxes of canned goods and dry food for me, and I am immeasurably grateful. This is the universe providing, and I feel so blessed. LA, here I come.

Today, I took the time to try out China Bamboo, a new Chinese place down here on Tanque Verde. I've been watching them get set up for WEEKS, and I was excited to go in for the first time, and they're FINALLY open! And boy howdy, was it a treat!
Hey guys! So... Hmm. I'm in a bit of a pickle, as I've mentioned previously that me and the Missus are no longer together. I had changed it to Brunch With Mr. Gold to carry on in my name, but I've recently made the (admittedly mad) decision to move to LA. Ostensibly, I want to be a voice actor, and also a professional writer, as no doubt my crazy hair-brained story ideas will make excellent films/shows/cartoons and etc., and with my personality I should have no problem getting work as an actor. But the HUGE upside of all this is that LA is a SCHMORGAZBORD (misspelt, and I don't care) of tastees! Cheap sushi on every block, boardwalk yummies on the beach, the ethnic diversity of Koreatown, Little Armenia, southwest, seafood... EURGH. It's a veritable buffett of culinary delights, and I'm sure this blog will see a LOT of action in the coming months.
In fact, it better. I still have a backlog of entries that need posting. BUT YES! I'm moving to LA! I've a GoFundMe to help raise funds. Please share, donate, etc.! If any of you lovelies want to meet me and let me crash on your couch some time before the end of the year so I can get moved, a couch would be wondrous. I'll make you curry and/or Italian and/or whatever your little heart desires in my gratitude! In the meantime, update your bookmarks, because this is going to be BrunchWithBlake.weebly.com from now on. Best! I love you! ~B Fun fact! Did you know that Coffee Xchange has a Sunday breakfast special? It's pretty wonderful. I got off work this morning, didn't quite want to walk home just yet, decided to sit at the cafe for a wee bit, and was delighted to find this. Eggs, home fries, sausage (or bacon) and a cup of coffee for just $4.95! I added a slice of pepperjack to my eggs (because that's how I roll) and a banana for POTASSIUM. This plae has become one of my favorite haunts, and they're open 24hrs! Ask the barista for the WiFi password -- everyday it's something new and amusing.
